County rules for unincorporated land — proposed caps on cooling water and project size

The county planning commission voted October 20 on an ordinance that would cap cooling water and the size of the largest projects and make applicants pay for power-system upgrades, while residents pressed for stricter rules or a ban. The meeting ended in arrests: one protester was charged with assaulting an officer, which she disputes, and two others were cited. The County Commission has the final say.
